A larger herd changes the work
Our original five had become ten by 19 February, and blue ear tags gave us a reliable way to follow each animal.

Three of our original does kidded in August 2025, taking the herd from five animals to eight. We added another goat on 22 January 2026, and a fourth doe kidded on 19 February. By then, we had ten goats in our care.

On 11 February, we fitted numbered blue ear tags across the herd. The numbers let us connect a birth, health observation or treatment to the animal involved and find that history again later.
The tags gave us a common reference for the animals. Keeping each record current is now part of the routine.
